Michael Watson was for a time the dominant British middleweight of his era.
Having outclassed Nigel Benn in six rounds in 1989 and being on the wrong end of a bad decision against Eubank in their first fight, Watson attacked the Brighton man with a vengeance in their second encounter.

With a wide lead on the judges scorecards and having just felled Eubank, he walked onto a massive uppercut which led to his defeat and brain injuries. Michael has never recovered from that final blow which left him wheelchair bound.But Michael has defied the odds( against him ever walking again ) and completed the London Marathon this year with a cheering audience at his side as well as Chris Eubanks who showed his appreciation at the finish line.

Michael Watson is still making a full recovery and becoming healthier day by day.

He truly is a real fighter.

On the 11th of February 2004 Michael Watson recieved an MBE from the Queen. This is a great achievement from a person who was told he would never be able to walk or talk again, by doctors.
