Outstanding soul singer who made a great impact in the early nineties

Born Michelle wallen on April 27th in 1969, she was raised by her grandparents in lewisham, south -east London. Paris is one of six children. Her mother a housewife and her father, a writer, painter and musician, both from the West indies. At the age of ten Mica joined a choir, later she joined the gospel quintet Spirit of watts choir. mica soon quit and signed to Island records. This was a good move for her and soon opened the doors to many things.

In 1989 her debut album "So Good" was released, she gained a top ten single british single hit with the song "My One Temptation". She, along with proiducer Will Downing, had another hit with "Where is the love?". Her second album "Contribution" released in 1991 had a host of big names such as Nile rogers, Rakim and Prince. This album failed to hit the heights of her previous one .Paris soon became disallusioned with the industry and was now living in the United States. she soon plucked up courage to complete her third album in 1993, "Whisper a Prayer". Her fourth album "black Angel" 1999 was the first she produced all by herself and took five years to reach the streets.

The good thing is that mica has never given up on her talents. Through suffering with depression, Mica has bounced back and dabbled in acting appearing in West End musicals like Mama, I want to sing and through the rain. She has also had a hand in radio presenting.

She now works with her partner Andreas newman, together they have set up a record company of their own.
