Dotun Adebayo as his name suggests is of Nigerian descent and is a London raised journalist turned broadcaster and publisher.
Adebayo honed his writing skills as a journalist and arts editor at the Voice newspaper. In the 1990's he along with business partner Steve Pope set up X Press books a publishing company producing Black pulp paperbacks.
They achieved notoriety for a publicity stunt by which a bullet was sent along with a press release to promote the book 'Cop Killer'.
Their most noted work from X Press books is Victor Hedley's acclaimed novel Yardie -- by far their best seller to date.
Adebayo is also a broadcaster and writer and works extensively with BBC Radio and writes for various newspapers including the New Nation, The London Evening Standard and The Guardian.

Dotun lives in south London and is the older brother of award winning author Diren Adebayo.
