As one of the youngest Senior executives in broadcast.
Andi started out as a children's television presenter in the late 80's
earning wide celebrity in the early 90's on Live and Kicking, in 1993,
with co host Emma Forbes. After that Andi was approached by the ITV
Television Company and swung a deal which was to make him one of Britain's
highest paid television presenters. Andi went on to present numerous
tv shows like The Noise, Train 2 Win and showbiz UK. he was also behind
scene as a producer on the successful (Cast away) programme.
In
1998 Andi
became the Commissioning Editor for Channel 4.
Ever
since his days in the broom cupboard, 31-year-old Andi Peters has brought
his youthful looks and boundless energy to 14 years' worth of television
shows.
His
first break, at the tender age of 17, came when he was made presenter
of 'Free Time'. The show led to another job fronting 'The Ozone', where
he also tried his hand at directing producing and directing.
The
multi-skilled Andi went on to work on 'Live and Kicking' and 'CBBC',
while in his free time (!) he kept himself busy by presenting the 'Smash
Hits Awards' for three years (he was voted 'Top Personality on TV')
and co-presenting 'Children In Need' in 1993 and 1994 with Terry Wogan.
In
1998 Andi was snapped up by Channel 4 who wanted him to create their
youth programmes. The result was the successful T4 strand which launched
the careers of Dermot O'Leary and Margherita Taylor.
Not
one to stay in the sidelines, Andi made an occasional appearance with
a series of one-off "Andi Meets…" specials in which
interviewed some of the biggest names in showbiz, including Ricky Martin,
Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey.
